Mahmood Validi was born in 1971 in Mashhad. He received his bachelor's degree in English translation in 1994 from Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran. Subsequently, he obtained a master's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language in 1997, graduating summa cum laude from Tarbiat Modares University. During his MA program, he passed several teaching qualification courses and was given a scholarship by the then Ministry of Culture and Higher Education. Between 1997 and 2004, he taught various undergraduate courses in English translation at Allameh Tabatabaei University, Shahid Sattari University of Aeronautical Engineering or Air University, Islamic Kar University, Payame Noor University, Elmi Karbordi University, and Arak University, as well as training colleges including Imam Khomeini, Nizam-ol-Molk and Nahavand in Tehran. Also, from 2002 to 2004, he worked as an international relations expert and translator for the National Database of Iran in the Deputy for Information and International Cooperation of the Iranian Studies Foundation affiliated to the Presidential Institution. At the end of 2004, he was officially employed by the Department of English Language and Literature of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. Currently, in addition to teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, he conducts research activities and holds seminars and workshops in the fields of systemic functional linguistics, genre and text analysis, analysis of medical science texts, and academic scientific texts.
