She received her bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. She then received her master's and PhD degrees in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Allameh Tabatabai University. Dr. Vahdat has been a member of the academic staff of the English Language and Literature Department of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz since 1994. Her main research interests include syllabus design and English language teaching and learning skills.
