A Short introduction of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz

The Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz (formerly Jundishapur) was established in the academic year 1973-1974 under the name of the Faculty of Literature and Foreign Languages in a building known as Se Goush (Triangle in Persian). The first two academic majors offered in this faculty were the Bachelor's program in Persian language and literature (in two divisions including Teaching Persian language and literature and Persian language and Literature) and the Bachelor's program in English Language and Literature (in two divisions including Teaching English as a Foreign Language and English Language and Literature). In the following years, however, the academic majors of French Language and Literature, Economics, Accounting, Educational Sciences and History were established in this faculty, changing its name to "the Faculty of Letters and Humanities". After a while, the majors of Economics, Accounting and Educational Sciences were separated to form the Faculty of Economics and Educational Sciences. Since February 2011, the Faculty of Letters and Humanities has its own building in the campus of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz.
