Dr. Golizadeh was born in 1957 in Dezful, Khuzestan province. She received her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in Persian language and literature from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. In 1994, she became a faculty member in the same university serving as an instructor, and in 2002 and 2013, she was promoted to the ranks of assistant professor and associate professor, respectively.  Due to her interest in mystical literature, she has taught mystical texts and prose, including Rumi's Masnavi, and she has carried out most of her research focusing on Rumi's thoughts, from the beginning of her educational and research activities till now.
