Ali Bahranipour was born in Abadan in 1976. In 1996, he was accepted to Shiraz University where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees in history. His master's thesis was entitled "Relations between the court of Sultan Shahrokh Teymouri and the Ming Dynasty in China". Along with his academic achievements, Dr. Bahranipour was active in sports and Islamic arts such as painting and gilding. Then he went to Tehran to study for a doctorate program until 2007 when he received his PhD and was employed as an assistant professor at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of associate professor. He has written a book about Abadan and several articles published in Iran and other countries on the economic and social history of Iran and the Persian Gulf during the Mongol and Timurid periods. He has been engaged in master's and doctoral dissertations written in this regard.
