Q. Who can join the library?

A. All students of the faculty, all faculty members and all the staff of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz who are members of the central library of the university

Q. How can we join the library?

A. All students are automatically members of the faculty's library and do not need to register. Professors and staff will be members by filling out the membership application form at the University's Central Library

Q. Is it possible for students of other universities to join this library?

A. Individual membership is not possible.

Q. How can we find the sources (books, dissertations, etc.) we need?

A. By the search menu on the library's site    »» »    Search for dissertations in digital resources

Q. Is it possible to have access to the library's computer catalog from outside the university?

A. Yes, by visiting the "Search Resources" section on the Central Library's website

 

Q. How much is the fine for a late book?

A. 3000 Rials must be paid for each day of delay.

 

Q. How can one renew a book?

Renewing a borrowed book is possible via elib.scu.ac.ir. After entering the site and "the personal library" section, request for renewing the book in "the borrowed documents" section and make sure your request is approved by the library.

Q. How many books can be borrowed?

A. It is 3 for undergraduate students, 7 for graduate students, 10 for Ph.D. students, and 15 for faculty members.

Q. How can I search for all theses and dissertations across the country?

A. To search all such documents in the country, you can go to the "databases" section in Irandoc.ac.ir. Once you have registered, you can use the site whenever you desire using your username and password.

Q. How can research projects be used?

A. The search for research projects is the same as the search in the database of dissertations. We only select the "reports and technical documents" database instead of the "dissertations" database.

Q. If a journal is available in other libraries, how can it be accessed?

A. Since interlibrary loan has been implemented in Iran, clients can refer to Ms. Hamdipour's in the Central Library's "document ordering" to receive their intended article. Our colleagues in this section will request a scan or print of the article using the above-said agreement.

Q. How can I find out whether or not a certain journal can be accessed in a given library across the country?

A. For information about the existence of a magazine or journal, you can visit the database of magazines in Persian (Magiran) at http://www.magiran.com, Namamatn at http://www.namamatn.um.ac.ir, or the Iranian Periodicals Database at http: //search.ricest.ac.ir.

Q. How can we have access to publications in the blacklist (invalid publications)?

A. Information regarding these journals is available on the website of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology at http://rppc.msrt.ir.

Q. How do I access the list of ISI Journals?

A. Access to the electronic format of Persian publications is provided through databases such as "Mag Iran", "Noormags", etc.

A. You need to visit http://ip-science.thomsonreuters.com/mjl. ISI journals have been listed under several thematic groups.

Q. How do I access the electronic format of Latin publications?

A. Access to articles in Latin is provided through various databases. The link to these databases is available on the Central Library's website, in the "Latin Databases" tab, under "access to digital articles, books and dissertations".

Q. How do I access the electronic format of publications in Persian?

A. The links to these databases are available on the Central Library's website under the "Persian Databases" tab, as well as the portal of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities. You can visit the following two addresses: lib.scu.ac.ir (Databases) and http://lite.scu.ac.ir (Databases in the portal of the library of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities.

Q.  What is "Ghadir Project"? How can we join Ghadir Project?

A. It is a kind of interlibrary loan supported by Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology. Upon registration, graduate students and professors can use the resources of the universities covered by Ghadir Project.

Q. What should be included in the file of a thesis or dissertation on the CD delivered to the library?

A. - The full text of the thesis or dissertation in Word or Latex.

     - The full text of the dissertation in PDF.

     - The table of contents, references, the Persian abstract, and the Latin abstract as a separate file in

      Word.
